Writing....In Music?!
Let's Go to W.A.R.
(Writing about our Reading)
Writing...YES! With decrease scores across the state in writing, our students need all of the exposure that they can get.
I am bringing this down to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Music classrooms this year, to expose them to a different setting when writing. How it will look in the Music room is on the 3rd and 4th week of every month(3rd week-3rd. Grade,/ 4th week-4th grade) students will be given time to write in their "Music writer's notebook" on a topic that relates to the composer that we are studying for the month. Students will also learn writing strategies that will be helpful when writing. It might be an aspect from the composer's life that they feel that they can relate to as a student today, etc. Notebooks/folders will be provided for the students to take home to decorate the cover in the upcoming week to "inspire and plant seeds" for their future writing.
Students are invited to wear camouflage gear if they have it!
Any questions or ideas, please feel free to ask either by calling me at the school or typing it up on the questions page.
