Classroom Rules and Mission Statement
You can do it!!!

Rules that we live by, in the Music Studio: (Our "I will" statements) Your student will be following Stephen Covey's 7 Habits. If you are not familiar there are several books out that he has written on being "Highly effective" citizens. 1) I will: Be ProActive by Follow Directions the first time given, and being responsible for my actions. 2) I will: Begin with the end in mind by: Planning ahead and setting goals. 3) I will: Put first things first by being disciplined and organized. "work first then play" 4) I will: Think Win Win by being considerate to others and respectful. 5) I will: Seek first to understand, then to be understood by listening to others, and waiting to be called on to talk. 6) I will: Synergize by working with each other and learning from each other. 7) I will: Sharpen the Saw by finding meaningful way to help others. Our music room is not your typical. Every student will NEED to participate, and follow rules on a daily basis for our class to work. 51 minutes/ once a week, requires a lot of focus on students' parts, as well as mine, so we can get everything in. We need to make the best use of our time together. *Every minute counts, and we can do it! Students who can't live up to these expectations will see consequences. It will not be tolerated by me. I need students to be focused when coming in so that we can get through their lessons. OUR Classroom Mission Statement We the students of Miss Anderson’s Music class, in order for a perfect union, promise to: Be ACTIVELY engaged in our own musical journey, and learn the skills that we need, in order to become Lifetime Appreciators of music. *My job is done if your student becomes an "appreciator" of music while in my class. I am not trying to make them a singer or an instrumental musician. If that one song that they hear years from now can put a smile on their face, jog a memory, lifts their spirits, and makes them happy...my goal has been reached. -Miss Anderson |
