Trimester Goal: The student will complete a written assessment on reading notes on treble clef.
Lesson Goal: Students will continue working on note reading, and learning about our new composer of the Month
1) Morning/Afternoon Message *”Welcome Back Students! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Today in Music we are going to continue learning about our new composer of the month, and continue to work on how to read music. Does anyone remember….why can’t we say Elephants HAVE big dirty feet in music for the order of the line?
2)Warm Up exercises :5
3) Composer of the Month:Beethoven: Students will watch a short :10 documentary.
*Standard 4: Understand, analyze, and describe the arts in their historical, social, and cultural context
4)Note Reading: Students will continue to learn how to read Music.:20
*ART.M.I.4.9 Use a system to read quarter notes and rests, eighth notes
and rests, half notes and rests, whole notes and rests.
5) Note reading handout form to go home.:5 ) *Students job is to complete form in class on who they are going to teach to read music, and then to go home and actually teach them. Students will return completed form throughout the trimester as they progress with learning how to read music.
